I’ve always been a creative soul — drawn to anything artistic or crafty since I was a kid. I studied graphic design and took a few art classes along the way, but it wasn’t until this past year that I picked up my watercolors again and fell back in love with painting.

What started as a personal creative outlet quickly grew into something more thanks to the encouragement of the amazing Mountain Women in Business networking group. Their support gave me the nudge I needed to share my work with the world. One inspiring member, Laura from Mountainside Bakery, asked if she could sell my cards in her bakery — and just like that, Wandering Palette Co. was born.

I’ve turned some of my favorite pieces into limited edition prints and opened an Etsy shop to make them more widely available. With further encouragement and lots of help from another generous member, Laura of Be Digital Marketing, I took the leap and used my graphic design skills to build this website to share my work and story more directly.

My style leans toward minimalist and intentional. I love creating soft, clean compositions that leave room to breathe — where a few well-placed strokes or a gentle wash of color can evoke a whole landscape, mood, or memory. Whether I’m painting delicate wildflowers, simple mountain vistas, or everyday moments, my focus is on capturing the essence rather than every detail.

Each and every piece I create is rooted in joy, nature, and a love of color. I’m so grateful for this journey and the people who helped bring it to life — and I’m just getting started. I invite you to follow along to see where the journey takes us!

With gratitude and a brush full of color,

❤️ Julie Dikken
